An overnight gel, which is a sensible thing to be. Skin does most of its repair work while you sleep — cell turnover rises, water loss through the skin peaks, and there is no sun, no makeup and nothing being rubbed off on a commute.
Glycolic acid sits third on the ingredient list, with a lactic and fruit-acid blend behind it. That makes this an exfoliating gel rather than a hydrating one. The acids loosen the bonds holding dull surface cells in place so they shed overnight, which is where the smoothing comes from.
A gel texture suits that window in this climate. Heavy night creams can feel suffocating in Singapore humidity; a gel gives you the same overnight hours without the weight.
Who it suits
Dullness and rough texture. Anyone who wants an overnight resurfacing step but finds night creams too rich. It is fragranced, so fragrance-sensitive or reactive skin should choose a different overnight product.
How to use
Two to three nights a week, as the last step after serums. Leave on overnight and rinse in the morning as usual. Start with one night and build up rather than going straight to nightly.
Not on the same night as retinol. Both speed up cell turnover, and stacking them is how a barrier gets damaged. Alternate the nights.
Sunscreen the next morning is not optional. Acids leave newer skin at the surface and raise sun sensitivity — skipping SPF undoes the work and invites pigmentation.
