RETINOL RENEW SERUM Wrinkles, Texture & Skin Renewal
Retinol Renew Serum
Retinol with its own damage control built in.
Retinol works — it is the most evidenced topical ingredient there is for lines and texture. The reason most people give up on it is the first month: the flaking, the tightness, the stinging. That phase happens because retinol speeds up turnover faster than the skin barrier can keep up.
This formula addresses that directly. Alongside the retinol sit ceramide NP, cholesterol and phytosphingosine — the lipids skin rebuilds its barrier from — plus niacinamide, squalane and ectoin. The barrier is being resupplied at the same time it is being pushed.
Important
- Night use only.
- Start twice a week and build up over a month. Slower is faster with retinol.
- Do not use on the same night as acids — BHA+AHA Skin Perfector, Flawless or Sapphire Peel.
- Daily sunscreen is essential.
- Not suitable during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
Which retinol to choose
The three sit on a ladder, gentlest first:
- Pure Gold — bakuchiol alone, no retinoid at all. For skin that cannot tolerate retinol, or for pregnancy.
- Gold Oil Retinol — bakuchiol with a low dose of retinol behind it, in a waterless oil. Built for the neck and décolletage, where skin is thinner and reacts harder.
- Retinol Renew — retinol-led, for the face. The full-strength option, with the barrier lipids to make it liveable.
Using the face serum and the neck oil together is the sensible approach if the neck is showing more age than the face.
Pairs well with
- LUMINIZING II — a ceramide cream over the top, especially in the first month.
- NAKED 100% Mineral Sunscreen SPF50 — non-negotiable alongside retinol.
