ROSE GINSENG Ginseng-Infused Brightening Facial Toner
Rose Ginseng Brightening Facial Toner
Most toners are water with a little alcohol and some fragrance. Read this one's list from the top and it is a different proposition.
- Rose water is the second ingredient — real Rosa damascena flower water, not fragrance standing in for it. There is no alcohol in the formula and no added fragrance of any kind: the rose scent is the flower itself.
- Niacinamide and acetyl glucosamine sit at fifth and sixth. That is the pair with the best evidence behind it for uneven tone, and finding them this high in a toner is unusual — it is why this earns the word brightening rather than borrowing it.
- Panax ginseng root extract, used on skin in Korea for centuries and still in their most expensive products, alongside ectoin, beta-glucan, adenosine, allantoin and panthenol.
The toner step is the one most people treat as optional. It need not be: applied to damp skin and followed immediately, a toner is the layer everything else absorbs into. Dry skin takes up actives poorly, so a good toner quietly improves whatever comes after it — and this one is doing work of its own at the same time.
Who it suits
Dull, tired or uneven-looking skin. Normal to dry skin that finds clarifying toners stripping. Reactive skin that wants a rose toner without the alcohol and perfume that usually come with one.
Which toner to choose
- Rose Ginseng — brightening and comforting, alcohol-free, for dullness and uneven tone.
- Clear Tonic — clarifying and cooling, with zinc PCA and a gentle PHA for oil and pores.
How to use
Morning and night after cleansing. Press into damp skin with the hands and follow immediately with serum, while the skin is still wet.
Pairs well with
- GLOWGENIC C+T — vitamin C straight after, on damp skin. It carries the same niacinamide and acetyl glucosamine, so the two layer into one continuous brightening routine.
- PINK SAKE — a fermented rice moisturiser to finish, for the same radiance brief.
