3 Products, 3 Skin Concerns: Building a Minimalist Routine That Works
Posted on May 11 2026
There is an overwhelming amount of skincare content suggesting that more is better: more serums, more layers, more steps. The reality is that a routine with three well-chosen products, used consistently, will outperform a twelve-step routine assembled without a clear rationale.
This is a practical guide to building that three-product routine. Specifically, one built around the three most common skin concerns among our customers in Singapore: hormonal acne, uneven skin tone and dullness, and textured or congested skin.
The Three Concerns (and Why They Often Coexist)
Singapore’s climate — warm, humid, year-round UV exposure — creates a specific combination of skin challenges. Oil production is higher in humidity. UV exposure is constant and intense, driving both pigmentation and accelerated collagen breakdown. Congestion is common. Post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation from breakouts is one of the top concerns across all skin tones in the region.
The three concerns we are addressing:
- Hormonal or inflammatory acne: Recurring breakouts, particularly around the chin, jaw, and cheeks
- Uneven skin tone and dullness: Hyperpigmentation, sun spots, post-acne marks, generally uneven complexion
- Textured or congested skin: Rough texture, blackheads, enlarged pores, surface unevenness
These three concerns frequently coexist — and importantly, they can be addressed simultaneously with the right product selection. You do not need a separate product for each.
The Three-Product Framework
Product 1: ClearBliss (AM + PM) — Addresses Acne + Pigmentation
ClearBliss targets acne through azelaic acid’s combined anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, and keratolytic mechanisms. Crucially, it also addresses post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation — the dark marks that acne leaves behind — through tyrosinase inhibition.
This dual action means ClearBliss is not only treating active breakouts; it is preventing the pigmentation cycle where each breakout creates a mark that takes months to fade. For skin dealing with both active acne and existing dark spots, this is the most effective single-product choice available without a prescription.
Apply: After cleansing, morning and evening, before moisturiser.
Product 2: Glowgenic C+T (AM) — Addresses Dullness + Pigmentation + UV Protection
Glowgenic C+T delivers vitamin C and turmeric-derived curcumin in a stable daily serum. Used in the morning, it provides: - Antioxidant protection against UV-generated free radicals (vitamin C + curcumin, working synergistically under SPF) - Active melanin inhibition to fade existing hyperpigmentation and prevent new UV-triggered spots - A cumulative brightening effect that addresses the dullness that comes from sun exposure, congestion, and an impaired barrier
Applied under SPF, this combination provides measurably stronger photoprotection than SPF alone.
Apply: After cleansing, before ClearBliss (if using both in the AM), before moisturiser and SPF.
Product 3: BHA+AHA Skin Perfector (PM, 2–3x weekly) — Addresses Texture + Congestion
The BHA+AHA Skin Perfector combines the pore-clearing power of salicylic acid (oil-soluble, penetrates into pores) with the surface-smoothing and brightening effects of AHA exfoliation. Used two to three evenings per week, it addresses: - Blackheads and congested pores - Rough surface texture - The cell turnover that accelerates both pigmentation fading and skin renewal
On evenings when you use the Skin Perfector, it replaces your ClearBliss application (both are evening-appropriate actives; alternating prevents overload and maintains barrier health).
Apply: On alternating evenings (not every night), on dry skin after cleansing. No need for additional exfoliation on the same night.
The Full Routine
Morning: 1. Cleanser 2. Glowgenic C+T 3. ClearBliss 4. Moisturiser 5. SPF 30+ (non-negotiable)
Evening (non-exfoliation nights): 1. Cleanser (double cleanse recommended to remove SPF) 2. ClearBliss 3. Moisturiser
Evening (exfoliation nights, 2–3x weekly): 1. Cleanser 2. BHA+AHA Skin Perfector 3. Moisturiser
That is it. Three products covering five distinct mechanisms across two routines. No redundancy, no gaps.
Why This Works
Each product addresses a different layer of the skin concern: - ClearBliss works at the level of sebaceous gland regulation, bacterial load, and inflammatory signalling - Glowgenic C+T works at the level of oxidative stress and melanin synthesis - BHA+AHA Skin Perfector works at the level of the stratum corneum and pore lining
Together, they create a virtuous cycle: the exfoliant clears the surface, the brightener addresses pigmentation, and the azelaic acid manages the inflammation and bacterial factors that create new congestion. Each product makes the others more effective.
The One Non-Product Requirement
SPF. Every morning. This is not optional. All three active ingredients increase the impact of UV damage on your skin if SPF is not applied. More importantly, UV exposure drives both of the pigmentation concerns you are trying to address. SPF is the foundation of any routine targeting uneven skin tone in Singapore.
